RISPERDAL LAWSUITS

Risperdal is an anti-psychotic drug which is used to treat the patients of schizophrenia, autism and bipolar syndrome and is not prefer for the patients of dementia. Risperdal was approved by FDA in 1993, for the treatment of schizophrenia, and then it was prescribed for the patients of autism and bipolar disorder in adults and children. In 2001, Miami herald newspaper reported cases of Risperdal side effects including Gynecomastia development in males especially adults in the Florida foster care system, which has been served with it for the last two years. In 2002, Janssen Pharmaceuticals, a subtype of Johnson & Johnson issued a warning letter to Canadian doctors regarding chances in the elderly dementia people about death but same people didn’t warn the citizen in US. Risperdal is responsible for at least 37 cases of stroke or heart attack which includes 16 deaths.

On 2005, FDA included a label on Risperdal and other antipsychotics warning the doctors about the dangers of Risperdal in elderly stage of dementia. So if a person is consuming the risperdal lawsuit he should remain in touch with his doctor and should not use it on its own will.
